JACQUES NAMED ATLANTIC'S TOP ENTREPRENEUR

Jacques Whitford Group president and CEO Hector Jacques has been named Atlantic Canada's Entrepreneur Of The Year. The award is sponsored by Ernst & Young, Canadian Business, Bank of Montreal, Nesbitt Burns, McCarthy Tétrault, Air Canada and regionally by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. Jacques Whitford of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is an engineering consulting business with operations around the world. Penny Mosher of Penny Mosher Managements took top honors in the supporter of entrepreneurship category. Nautical Data International president Brian Terry walked away with the emerging entrepreneur award. Woodward Group of Companies president Melvin Woodward won the master entrepreneur award and Acadien Seapland Ltd. president Louis Deveau won in the high technology category. Pete's Frootique president Peter Luckett took the top award in the retail and wholesale category and Scotian Homes/Enfield Hardware president Bob Bona won in the manufacturing category. All winners will be featured in the 1997 edition of Who's Who in Canadian Business.
