Government of Canada promotes computer tax relief program

The Government of Canada has begun an advertising campaign promoting a tax relief measure that allows Canadian business owners to claim 100% of the capital cost allowance for computer equipment and software purchased before the end of 2011. "We know it is important for Canadian businesses to remain competitive in today's changing world," said Keith Ashfield, Minister of National Revenue, Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway. "That's why our government brought in measures like this one, and many others in Canada's Economic Action Plan. These temporary measures will help Canadian businesses through this challenging economic time, and make sure they have the tools they need for the future." No other details about the campaign are available at this time.
