Government updates ATIP portal

The Ottawa-based Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat has introduced updates to the Government of Canada Access to Information and Privacy Online Request Service, intended to provide simpler and more efficient access to government held information. The service allows users to make information requests and personal information requests to 227 institutions. The updates allow users to create accounts so that basic information can be saved for future requests, track the status of a request in real time and receive requested information electronically. The service is located at <https://www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/services/access-information-privacy.html>.

“The service improvements to the ATIP portal reflect the government's ongoing commitment to openness, transparency and accountability,” said Mona Fortier, president of the Treasury Board. “We will continue to pursue opportunities to enhance the ATIP request process, leveraging technology and continuous improvement to meet Canadians' expectations and rights for accessible, timely, and trustworthy information.”
