HYDRO CHOOSES BOS

Hydro-Québec has chosen BOS of Montreal to handle the creative portion of its account. BOS won the $6-million business in a competition with four other Montreal agencies: Cossette Communication-Marketing, Marketel, Publicité Martin, and PNMD/Publitel. The media portion of the account was given to incumbent Stratégem, which won a competition with Paul Martel and Median. All three agencies are in Montreal. The incumbent on the creative side was BCP, also of Montreal, which had the account for four years. Normally the utility holds a review every three years but Hydro kept BCP on for an extra year because the company was going through some organizational changes, commercial communications director Paul Paré told Adnews in an earlier interview. Hydro did not ask for speculative creative presentations. It just asked for agency qualifications, examples of previous work and strategic recommendations.
