Broadcasters ready Stronger Together broadcast

A group of Canadian broadcasters is preparing a special event called “Stronger Together,” intended to support frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The broadcast, which will take place in English and French on April 26, includes the participation of Bell Media, CBC/Radio-Canada, Corus Entertainment, Groupe V Média and Rogers Sports & Media. The special will feature a variety of musical artists, activists, actors and athletes. Approximately 24 television, radio, and online streaming services will donate time for the one-hour, commercial-free presentation. Viewers will also be encouraged to donate to Food Banks Canada as well as local food banks. The special is being produced by Insight Productions with support from Made Nous.

“Frontline workers across so many sectors, including food banking, have been drastically impacted by COVID-19,” said Chris Hatch, CEO of Food Banks Canada. “They need our support and we are thankful for ‘Stronger Together’ for helping our most vulnerable neighbours.”
