Made Nous expands Made Better campaign

Made Nous has begun an out-of-home campaign in Los Angeles as part of its larger “Made Better” campaign. The effort is intended to promote the Canadian entertainment industry by highlighting the quality of the works made here. It consists of billboards near Hollywood Blvd. that feature the Canadian talent working in the city. The executions make use of copy such as, “Politely Kicking Ass. (Sorry.)” Another execution uses the copy “Need Direction? Look North” and images of four director’s chairs displaying the names of Canadian film directors Villeneuve, Polley, Cameron and Shi. The initiative also includes social media content. The campaign was developed by Rethink, Torque Strategies and 123w. Made Nous is a promotional initiative by the Canada Media Fund, Telefilm Canada and 30 media industry participants.

“As proud Canadians, we are reinforcing and celebrating the strength of our talent in the screen-based industry,” said Francesca Accinelli, interim executive director and CEO of Telefilm Canada. “Through the fun and effective placements of these billboards in L.A., we honour our fellow Canadians’ successes and remind our friends down south and around the world that Canadians have good reasons to play cheeky.”
