Big Brother Canada begins online promotion

Shaw Media has begun an online promotion in support of its reality television series Big Brother Canada. The effort is based on a website at BigBrotherCanada.ca, developed by Secret Location of Toronto in association with Insight Productions and Shaw Media.

Users who register with the site before the season premiere on March 23 will receive bonus points that will make their votes on the events of the show more influential. Users can also gain voting influence by watching 24-hour video feeds from the show's set, playing a game to predict events on the show, or accessing other kinds of extra content.

The promotion also includes a contest element. Viewers who gain enough points on the site will automatically be entered into a draw for a visit to the house where the show takes place. These visitors will complete in a series of challenges to win prizes.

"The goal with each season is to make the show's digital platform more exciting and engaging, and I can say with confidence that this audience has never had more opportunity to influence and impact a television series," said James Milward, president of Secret Location. "Fans who want to be in the know on Big Brother Canada will be logging in early and often as they rack up points to get their say in the outcome of this season's game-changing moments."
