Irving Oil, TransCanada sponsor speed skating event

Irving Oil and TransCanada have signed-on as co-sponsors of the Canada East Short Track Championships speed skating competition, which will take place in Fredericton, NB this weekend. The event focuses on young speed skaters, with categories for males between the ages of 12 and 16 and females between the ages of 11 and 15, from Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario and Nunavut.

"You can't do an event like this without community partners," said Trevor Corey, president of the Fredericton Amateur Speed Skating Club. "Securing the Irving Oil and TransCanada co-sponsorship has been integral to the success of the championships."
