Global signs Big Brother sponsors

Global Television has signed a series of sponsorship agreements for its reality television series Big Brother Canada. Furniture retailer The Brick has renewed its principal sponsorship for a sixth season. The company will provide furnishing for the house featured in the show, as well as provide a $30,000 gift card to the winner.

Air Transat has also signed a sponsorship deal that includes a European vacation for two as a prize. Fast food chain Wendy's will provide weekly prizes to contestants in the form of menu items. Hasbro Gaming will provide a collection of games to the show as well as weekly prizes. Viewers will be invited to vote each week on which game the contestants will play. Food delivery service SkipTheDishes will also provide rewards and conduct a coupon giveaway for viewers. Shaw Communications will provide online video communications between contestants and their families. The company will also be the presenting sponsor of the show's After the Eviction online segment. Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures will conduct a promotion for the upcoming movie Tomb Raider in the form of an in-show contest.

"Heading into season six, we made a commitment to work with our new and returning partners to deliver more organic and elevated integrations in and out of Big Brother Canada," said Lynn Chambers, vice-president of Corus Tempo. "With the unique format of the series, these brands will directly impact the in-show experience for the houseguests, from challenges and tasks to rewards and prizing, while also reaching the series' extensive fan base in broadcast and across digital platforms."

The new season of Big Brother Canada will debut on March 7. Global Television is a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment.
