Wendy's promotes pretzel bun in Alberta

Fast food chain Wendy's has begun a promotion in Alberta for its pretzel bacon cheeseburger and pretzel pub chicken sandwich menu items. During the four-week initiative, called "AB Pretzel Love," promotional workers will travel the province in a branded vehicle. At tour stops, consumers will be invited to demonstrate their partiality to the food on camera. One participants at each stop will win free cheeseburgers for a year. The tour will visit 22 locations, including Edmonton, Stony Plain, Leduc, Sherwood Park, Camrose, Red Deer, Olds, Canmore, Airdrie, Globalfest, the Big Valley Jamboree and Medicine Hat. The campaign also includes social media activities.
"After such positive feedback from Canadians, we are delighted to bring the pretzel bun back again for the summer," said Lisa Deletroz, director of marketing for Wendy's Restaurants of Canada. "In Alberta, we're inviting pretzel fans to show their love and tell us whether we should make this a permanent addition to the menu."
