Addendum: Rogers, Shaw merger

Following the Federal Court of Appeal dismissal of an appeal by the Commissioner of Competition, Rogers Communications, Shaw Communications, the Shaw Family Living Trust, and Quebecor have formed an agreement that extends the outside date of the proposed merger of Rogers and Shaw to Feb. 17. The acquisition of Freedom Mobile by Quebecor-subsidiary Videotron would also take place on that day. Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must still approve the transfer of spectrum licenses from Shaw to Videotron in connection with the Freedom Mobile acquisition.
