The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has signed a sponsorship agreement with Purolator Courier making it the exclusive supplier of courier services for the 2010 Winter Games. Purolator will also be the official courier for the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Olympic team at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the London 2012 Olympic Games. The company will provide courier and distribution services leading up to and during the 2010 Winter Games. The company will promote the games with specially-decorated delivery trucks and packaging.

Scotiabank has signed a multi-year agreement with the Caribana Festival Management Committee for the title sponsorship of the annual Toronto festival. The event, which will now be called Scotiabank Caribana, is a festival of Caribbean music, cuisine and culture. "Scotiabank Caribana makes our community a richer one by celebrating the diversity of the city," said Chris Hodgson, executive vice-president of Scotiabank. "Given Scotiabank's extensive presence in the Caribbean, and the importance of this event to the City of Toronto and many of our customers and employees, this event is a natural fit for us."

Vancouver-based Nintendo of Canada has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Canadian freestyle skiers Sylvia Kerfoot, Chris Wong, and Kristi Richards. All three are based in British Columbia and compete on the World Cup circuit. The sponsorship will cover run through the 2009/2010 season. "I think the sponsorship with Nintendo is a really good fit," said Richards. "Nintendo is a super fun and innovative company, as is our sport of freestyle skiing. I am really excited about partnering with them and the support leading to 2010."
