Nintendo brings Play As You Are campaign to Canada

Video game company Nintendo will release a new advertising campaign in Canada on Oct. 1. The initiative, called "Play As You Are," promotes the company's 3DS and 3DS XL hand-held video game systems. It is aimed primarily at women and young girls who do not consider themselves gamers. The creative, which features television actresses Dianna Agron and Sarah Hyland, focuses on games as a fun, creative way for consumers to challenge themselves, and the ways in which these products can be used to express individuality. Agron will appear in ads for instructional game Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone and puzzle game Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. Sarah Hyland will appear in ads for fashion simulator Style Savvy: Trendsetters and photography application Sparkle Snapshots 3D. "These women are all amazing role models with their own unique tastes and talents," said Ron Bertram, general manager at Nintendo of Canada. "They know firsthand how Nintendo 3DS can keep them entertained and engaged wherever they go. We think young girls and women of all ages will enjoy hearing what they have to say about their favourite games and activities on Nintendo 3DS."
