Reader's Digest conducts Most Interesting Towns contest

Reader's Digest magazine has begun a contest promotion called "Canada's Most Interesting Towns." Until Dec. 18, consumers can nominate their favourite town by submitting a 250 word story and photograph online at <http://www.readersdigest.ca>. One story will be selected by the magazine as the grand prize winner. The town will appear on the cover of the April 2013 issue, the author will receive $5,000 and an additional $5,000 will be donated to the town to fund a community project or civic initiative. Prizes of $1,000 will also be awarded in the categories of Best Destination, Greenest Town, Healthiest Town, Best Cuisine, Most Community Spirit, Most Artistic Town and Most Entrepreneurial Town. "Canadians are renowned for their community pride and we are excited for people across the county to share their stories with us," said Philippe Cloutier, general manager of Reader's Digest. "Our readers have helped us become Canada's most-read magazine, and this program allows us to celebrate what truly makes our country great and give back to Canadians and their communities."
