Blue Ant Media debuts new video game division

Blue Ant Media of Toronto has launched a new division called Blue Ant Gaming in association with Toronto-based digital media company Enthusiast Gaming. Through this agreement, Blue Ant will represent Enthusiast Gaming's Canadian consumer marketing activities. These include digital advertising inventory, consumer show sponsorships and experiential promotions. Enthusiast Gaming operates online properties including The Escapist, Destructoid, Nintendo Enthusiast and Daily Esports, which attract approximately 75 million visitors per month. The company also operates the Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo.
Blue Ant Gaming will service advertisers attempting to reach Canadian video game players through live events, online content and influencer activities. Sales for the division will be headed by Greg Trought, vice-president of media sales and brand integration, and Robert Rames, gaming and entertainment strategy account director. The unit will also oversee Blue Ant's existing game content operation.
"Gaming content is the fastest growing category of our digital ad business and this new deal with Enthusiast Gaming has given Blue Ant Media a huge boost in scale, positioning us as the leader in this space within the Canadian market," said Mitch Dent, senior vice-president of media sales at Blue Ant Media. "Launching a dedicated gaming sales arm will allow us to give our Canadian advertisers significant reach in the core millennial male audience across multiple digital and real-world touchpoints."
