Restaurant chain Boston Pizza International has begun a promotion called “Nintendo Switch Fun Sundays” with video game company Nintendo. Until Oct. 31, participating restaurants in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec will feature various activities themed after the Mario Bros. series of games. Each Sunday during the promotion, consumers in a special reserved section can request a Nintendo Switch video game system be delivered to their table for use during their meal. The effort also includes a contest component, the winners of which will receive one of 30 prize packages consisting of a Nintendo Switch and two Mario games. An additional 20 secondary winner will receive Nintendo merchandise valued at $250. The promotion also includes a number of themed menu items for children.
“We had the opportunity to partner with one of the premier entertainment brands in the world and as the leader of family dining occasions in Canada, we jumped at the chance to work together,” said James Kawalecki, vice-president of marketing at Boston Pizza International. “Mario and pizza are a great combination, and we look forward to enhancing our BP kids experience through this collaboration.”
