CBC has signed-on as the media sponsor of the 2008 Scotiabank Caribana Festival. As part of the agreement, the broadcaster will produce special television, radio and online programming about the festival, which celebrates the culture of the Caribbean. This programming will include coverage of the launch of the festival on July 15, the Caribana Parade on Aug. 2, and musical performances at a venue called the Calypso Tent on July 30.

CTV has signed five returning sponsors for the sixth season of the Canadian Idol: Kraft, Procter & Gamble, Telus, TD Canada Trust and Subway Restaurants. The sponsorships include integration into the program and an online presence.
