Ontario spends $500,000 to promote Toronto arts festival

The Government of Ontario has agreed to provide Toronto arts festival Scotiabank Nuit Blanche with $500,000 to promote the event in Ontario, Quebec and in international markets. No details of this promotion are currently available. The event, now in its third year, consists of an all-night exhibition of art spread across numerous Toronto museums, galleries and other venues. The festival is produced by the City of Toronto. Last year Nuit Blanche attracted 800,000 visitors and generated $4.9 million in economic activity, according to the Ontario Ministry of Culture. This year's event will take place on Oct. 4.
