Destination Ontario conducts international campaign

Tourism organization Destination Ontario is conducting a campaign in Germany and the United Kingdom that encourages residents of those countries to visit family and friends in Ontario. Developed by FCB Canada, the campaign is intended to raise interest in visiting the province as international travel restrictions begin to ease. The creative features British and German immigrants living in Ontario, describing how they miss their families and would like to show them the beauty of the province. The campaign, which will run until Dec. 5, includes digital, social media and search engine advertising, as well as content marketing with UK newspaper The Guardian. Media work is being conducted by Initiative. Destination Ontario is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

“Germany and the United Kingdom are priority markets for Ontario, and throughout the pandemic we have continued to be active in those markets with travel trade and media relations to ensure Ontario was kept top-of-mind for when leisure travel resumed,” said Debra Mansillo, vice-president of industry relations and international marketing at Destination Ontario. “We are now building awareness to ensure when consumers begin to travel, they will choose Ontario.”
