The Globe and Mail has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games  to become the official national newspaper of the games. The paper will be the exclusive sponsor in the national newspaper publisher category for the 2010 Winter Games. The deal also includes sponsorship rights for the Canadian Olympic Team for the Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Globe will provide the committee with enhanced national advertising and online features relating to the games. "The Globe's national reach through advertising and promotion will help us generate excitement about the games across the country," said John Furlong, CEO of the committee.

Corby Distilleries has signed-on as the official wine and spirits sponsor of the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. In addition, Pernod Ricard Pacific's Jacob's Creek wine brand will the the presenting sponsor of the Late Nite Down Under show and the presenting sponsor of the Les Exceptionnels series. The festival will take place from June 27 to July 20.

Hewlett-Packard Canada of Mississauga has signed-on as the premier sponsor of the Contact Toronto Photography Festival for a fourth year. During the festival, which runs through the month of May, the company will host a number of special events, including the HP Lecture Series, the Portfolio Reviews and Exhibition and the HP Print Centre. The company will also handle the printing for various public art installations in the Greater Toronto Area.

Bottled water company Fiji Water has signed an agreement with IMG Canada to be a sponsor of the Telus World Skins Game golf tournament, which will take place June 16 and 17 in Vernon, BC. The company will provide water to the competitors and will also receive other exposure at the event. The deal was brokered by NKPR.
