The Advertising and Design Club of Canada conducted its 60th annual awards show in Toronto on Nov. 12. John St. won a gold award in the multi-media category for a Corby Distilleries campaign. Gold winners in the broadcast advertising category included TBWA Vancouver for E-COM-9-1-1, BBDO Toronto for the Royal Bank of Canada and Frito Lay Canada, Target Cinematography for for Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism, Leo Burnett for Procter & Gamble, Doug Agency for the Canadian Film Centre, DDB Vancouver for Midas, Cossette for General Mills Canada, Rethink for Alberta's Libraries and John St. for War Child Canada. Gold winners in the print advertising category includes Grey Canada for Procter & Gamble, Rethink for the BC Hall of Fame, Dose.ca and Playland, DDB Vancouver for the Vancouver Convention Centre, Juniper Park for the Canadian Red Cross and Eini & Co., Don Dixon Film & Photography for Purell, DDB Toronto for Earth Day Canada, Leo Burnett for James Ready, Lowe Roche for InBev and BBDO Toronto for Pepsi QTG-Canada. In the non-traditional advertising category, Zulu Alpha Kilo and Zig won gold awards. In the interactive category, gold winners includes Proximity Canada for Bayer Consumer Care, Arc Worldwide and Leo Burnett for Coca-Cola Canada, Grip for Labatt Breweries, The Vacuum for Warner Bros., and Zulu Alpha Kilo. Grey Canada and TBWA Vancouver won Michael O'Reilly Copywriting Awards, Grey in the print category for Special Olympics Canada and TBWA in the broadcast category for the Vancouver International Film Festival.
