KB Media opens in Toronto

A new out-of-home media company called KB Media has opened in Toronto. The company holds the exclusive Canadian rights to a US advertising product called "Mirror Image," which is owned by LuxuryTec. The product takes the form of a display with a motion sensor that can switch between a mirror and an advertising image. KB Media plans a national inventory of these displays in Canada in venues such as bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, golf clubs, ski clubs, airports, retail locations, offices and campuses. KB Media was founded by CEO Jim Kirby and president David Brisson. Kirby was previously general manager of the sports division at Publicis Canada. He has also worked at The Marketing Store Worldwide and IMG Canada. Brisson has previously done marketing work for various professional sports leagues. "With the launch of Mirror Image, we're creating a benchmark for out-of-home advertising," said Kirby. "Our new products break through the clutter, allow for brand segmentation and will provide sustainable revenue for our partners. Measurable, meaningful and memorable, they are arguably the most innovative technology within the category."
