Nintendo readies Wii for Women promotion

Video game maker Nintendo of Canada has begun a promotion in association with electronics retailer Best Buy Canada in support of its Wii game console. The initiative consists of a series of events called "Wii for Women" intended to attract women to video games. The events will take place at six Best Buy locations in BC, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec on Sept. 21. Promotional workers will speak with women about the benefits of playing video games as a way to relax and have fun with their families. Women will also be able to sample various games for the Wii and the Nintendo DS handheld game device.
