Best Buy conducts School Tech Grant Program
By Adnews Staff
Electronics retailer Best Buy Canada recently conducted an initiative called the “School Tech Grant Program” which will distribute approximately $117,000 to secondary schools nationally. Fifteen schools will receive cash grants of up to $10,000 to purchase computers and other digital devices for the use of students. In March, the company will conduct a similar program aimed at elementary schools.
“In Canada we are lucky to have so many motivated students who want to use technology to enhance their lives,” said Karen Arsenault, community investment manager at Best Buy Canada. “With the latest tech in their hands, students will be able to take on new projects and set goals that they're passionate about. Through their own hard work and the guidance of their teachers, they will be able to build a foundation of tech skills that will prepare them for their future.”
