Budweiser, Uber ready Super Bowl campaign

Budweiser Canada and Uber have begun a promotion timed to coincide with the upcoming Super Bowl LIV NFL football championship. The campaign, which will run exclusively in Canada, encourages consumers to use Uber as a responsible way to return home from Super Bowl parties. The campaign features a recreation of Budweiser’s “Wassup” television commercial from 20 years ago. On the day of the game, the ad will include a unique promotional code only which consumers can enter into the Uber mobile application. Budweiser is a brand of Labatt, which is a division of Anheuser-Busch InBev.

“We're excited to be bringing 'Whassup' back after 20 years with a modern twist, while simultaneously sending a vital message around making the smart decision to not drive impaired,” said Mike D'Agostini, director of marketing at Budweiser Canada. “We're thrilled to be working with a premier partner like Uber and proud to be taking the opportunity to use such a massive platform to urge Canadians to choose a smarter way home.”
