Budweiser releases Edmonton can

Labatt Breweries of Canada has begun a promotion in Edmonton for its Budweiser brand featuring a limited edition can commemorating the city. The batch of beer in the cans was also brewed in Edmonton. The packaging displays the city’s slogan, “City of Champions.” The promotion also includes a commercial featuring hockey player Mark Messier, who played for the Edmonton Oilers from 1979 to 1991. It also includes social media activities.
“Budweiser has been brewed in Edmonton for 45 years, and our connection to the city is a huge source of pride for our brewery and our brand,” said Pat Heembrock, marketing director for Budweiser Canada. “This limited edition can celebrates the champion spirit that goes beyond sports and lives in the hearts of the people who call it home. We're raising a toast to them because that's what Buds do.”
