Tourism Toronto retains Leo Burnett Canada

Tourism Toronto has appointed Leo Burnett Canada its new lead marketing agency and Starcom Mediavest Group its media agency. The assignment comes at the end of a formal agency review process intended to consolidate the organization’s account with a single firm. Tourism Toronto cited Leo Burnett’s longevity with clients and its high level of integration as factors in its decision. “The Leo Burnett team stood out as the ideal partner to help us present Toronto as an inspiring urban destination in a highly competitive environment,” said Bruce MacMillan, president and CEO of Tourism Toronto. “The tourism industry faces a profoundly changing marketplace. Traditional markets are in decline while new markets are emerging and showing long-term promise. We believe we have the right team to spark curiosity in new markets and reignite our base to build a more robust tourism business for our members and community.” Tourism Toronto is an industry association that works to market the Greater Toronto Area as a destination for tourists, convention delegates and business travelers internationally. Arnold Worldwide Canada was the organization’s previous marketing communications agency. TBWA and Marketing Drive Worldwide are also among the firms that done work for Tourism Toronto in recent years.
