Zero Crash Month promotion begins in British Columbia
By Adnews Staff
The Vancouver-based Insurance Corporation of BC has begun an advertising campaign to promote October as “Zero Crash Month.” The campaign, developed by Wasserman & Partners Advertising of Vancouver, is intended to raise awareness of the impact of automobile crashes on families and communities. It consists of posters, newspaper advertising and a television commercial, all directing viewers to a website located at <http://www.zerocrashmonth.com>. At the site, a stunt performer named Troy Thunderton offers information on safe road use and invites visitors to take a pledge to drive, cycle and walk safely. The initiative also includes a contest. Participants who have no accidents and receive no traffic tickets in October can enter a draw for a Pontiac Torrent. Participating communities can also win road safety grants worth a total of $93,000 by showing the greatest reduction in crashes in October.
