Tourism Toronto, Google begin marketing initiative

Tourism Toronto has begun an initiative in collaboration with Google Canada intended to attract visitors to the city. Through this agreement, the organization will receive a range of data from Google related to travel trends, as well as measurement of tourism growth in various visitor markets. Tourism Toronto will also make use of various Google online marketing services, including its search engine and video streaming site YouTube. According to the group, this initiative is the first of its kind for Google and a Canadian city.

"Our goal is to help Tourism Toronto reach more people from around the world who are interested in Toronto as a tourist destination," said Chris Adamkowski, head of government, tourism and airlines at Google Canada. "To do that, we have built specific tools to help Tourism Toronto better understand what kinds of marketing approaches to use in order to differentiate Toronto as a destination and grow visitors to the city."
