Leukemia & Lymphoma Society conducts campaign

The Toronto-based Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Canada has begun a new awareness and fundraising campaign called "Beating Cancer Is In Our Blood." The initiative is intended to highlight the organization's role in blood cancer research. The campaign includes a 30-second video and web-based materials at <http://www.llscanada.org>.
"Few people know that many of today's fundamental treatments for various cancers, like chemotherapy, began with blood cancer research," said Alicia Talarico, president of the society. "Fewer still know that our organization has been funding research since our inception in 1955."
