Tangerine to sponsor Toronto Raptors

Scotiabank has signed an agreement with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment by which the bank's Tangerine subsidiary will become a sponsor of the Toronto Raptors basketball team. Tangerine will become the official and exclusive bank sponsor of the team in July. The sponsorship follows the company's recent purchase of the naming rights to the team's venue, which will be renamed the Scotiabank Arena this summer. Scotiabank is also the official banking sponsor of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"This future partnership between Scotiabank's subsidiary, Tangerine, and the Toronto Raptors is a natural one as we look forward to July and Scotiabank Arena being a focal point of Toronto's sports and entertainment action," said John Doig, chief marketing officer at Scotiabank.
