BOZELL BUYS PRISM
By Adnews Staff
Bozell Palmer Bonner of Toronto has bought Prism Communications of Toronto to strengthen its retail business. The newly-formed agency is called Bozell Worldwide, Canada. The former Prism accounts form the Bozell Retail Group. Bozell wants to strengthen its retail capabilities because "in Canada, you only retain control of your own destiny if you have a strong base of Canadian clients," Bozell CEO Liz Torlée told Adnews yesterday. The agency bought Prism because it specializes in retail business. Torlée said there will be no layoffs as a result of the merger, and may even hire more people once the two agencies move into the same office space next year. Prism founder, chairman and CEO Elliot Ettenberg will take on the new international role of chairman and CEO of Bozell Retail Worldwide, developing retail business primarily out of New York. Torlée will remain as CEO at Bozell. Prism clients include A&P Canada and Sears Canada. Bozell clients include Hershey Canada, Sandoz Canada, Mondex Canada, Alberto-Culver Canada, Howard Johnson Hotels, Labatt Breweries, Speedy Muffler, Taco Bell and Scott Paper Ltd.
