Ruffles conducts chip licking promotion

PepsiCo Foods Canada has begun a promotion for its Ruffles brand of potato chips to coincide with the limited-time release of two new flavours: Spicy Garlic and Double Crunch Korean Sweet Chili. The effort includes online video and social media content that asks consumers whether they lick their potato chips to better experience the flavour. The promotion was developed by Rethink, with media work by OMD and social media support from Praxis.

“The beloved ridges that Ruffles is known for, combined with our intense new flavours, are made for chip licking, a snacking behaviour that’s more common with Canadians than you might have expected,” said Lisa Allie, senior director of marketing at PepsiCo Foods Canada. “We’re excited to bring this snacking phenomenon to the forefront and celebrate chip lickers and future chip lickers alike.”
