Safehaven releases board game
By Derek Winkler
Safehaven, a Toronto-based not-for-profit organization supporting individuals with complex medical needs, has begun a promotion called “Where Hope Lives.” The effort features a board game intended to help parents talk to their children about how to interact with people with medical disabilities. The game is accompanied by a publication called A Guide to Inclusivity: Having Tough Conversations with Your Kids About Medical Complexities. The game can be purchased online at <http://www.safehavenstore.ca>. It was developed by The Local Collective, with public relation support from Heads & Tales and media work by M&K Media.
“Safehaven’s mission is to create inclusive environments for people with complex care needs so they can live a life with dignity and respect,” said Susan Bisaillon, CEO of Safehaven. “Launching ‘Where Hope Lives’ is an important step in continuing to educate and raise awareness around medical complexity to ensure medically complex individuals, especially kids, feel seen, supported and valued in our communities.”
