Shaw Media signs Big Brother sponsors

Shaw Media of Toronto has signed a series of sponsors for the upcoming season of its reality television program Big Brother Canada. Furniture retailer The Brick will return as the premier sponsor of the show. It will provide the furnishings for the house in which the show takes place. A subsection of the website at TheBrick.com will feature these products. In addition, the grand prize for the system will include a $25,000 gift card from The Brick. Other elements of the sponsorship include a weekly voting event and a social media contest, the winner of which will receive a trip to the finale of the show in Toronto.

Snack food brand Twistos will also return as a participating sponsor. The sponsorship includes product placement during the show and the contribution of a $10,000 trip to anywhere in the world to the grand prize.

New sponsors this year include OxiClean, which will be the official laundry detergent of the show. The sponsorship will include online and on-air vignettes featuring the show's participants. Streaming video service Shomi will conduct a branded weekly challenge within the show. Fast food chain KFC will conduct a product integration sponsorship during the show. Hotel chain Ramada will sponsor a live online feed of the show at BigBrotherCanada.ca. The company will also sponsor an in-show challenge. Fast food chain Pizza Pizza will also sponsor an in-show challenge.

"With three primetime hours of non-stop drama on Global each week, Big Brother Canada is delivering its biggest and boldest season yet, with seven sponsors executing distinctly customized integrations on air and online," said Errol Da-Ré, senior vice-president of sales at Shaw Media. "This series offers the ultimate platform for partners to elevate the extraordinary experiences viewers expect from Big Brother Canada."

The third season of Big Brother Canada will begin on March 23 on Global Television.
