New general manager at Shomi

Streaming video service Shomi has appointed David Asch to the position of senior vice-president and general manager. He will oversee day-to-day operations and business strategy. Asch was most recently senior vice-president of content at Redbox Automated Retail. He was also senior vice-president of video, Internet and content services at Frontier Communications, and executive vice-president at In Demand Networks. Shomi is a joint venture of Rogers Communications and Shaw Communications.
