Future Shop conducts Future U promotion

Electronics retailer Future Shop has begun a back-to-school campaign called "Future U." During the promotion, the company will award $50,000 in "Epic Grants" to consumers. Consumers can "apply" for the money via Twitter, Instagram, and online at <http://www.futureshop.ca/epicgrants>. Entrants can also audition to take part in future radio advertising for weekly prizes. The grand prize winner will receive a $14,000 "Shopping Grant." The campaign was developed by John St. of Toronto and adapted for Quebec by Brad. Media was handled by Media Experts. Public relations are being conducted by Citizen Optimum. This is the first campaign John St. has developed for Future Shop since winning the account in March. "Our Epic Grants program is indeed epic," said Aliya Reynolds, director of marketing at Future Shop. "Taking a page out of our Future Generation Tech Lab program that awards financial grants to high schools and elementary schools, we thought it'd be an exciting complement to help ease financial burdens directly through our advertising. Now students can get the right tools from Future Shop to excel in the classroom and beyond."
