The Canadian Public Relations Society recently held its 2013 National Awards Gala in Gatineau, QC. The awards recognize achievement in a comprehensive public relations project or program. Twelve gold awards were distributed. Casacom and Massy Forget Langlois won for marketing communications. Argyle Communications won for community relations. The Work Zone Safety Alliance and WorkSafeBC won for advocacy and social marketing. GolinHarris Canada and SAIT Polytechnic won for media relations. De Beers Canada won for issues management. The Town of Okotoks, AB won for government relations. Citizen Optimum won for special events. Toronto Hydro won in the multimedia category. ATCO gas won in the print category. Paradigm Public Relations won gold awards for electronic media and writing. "Each year we receive entries that reflect how much our own public relations roles are evolving and each year we see evidence of how our members deliver strategic and successful public relations projects and campaigns across the country," said Robyn Quinn, the society's presiding officer for the awards.
