Boston Pizza conducts Fanalytics promotion

Restaurant chain Boston Pizza has begun a promotion called “Fanalytics” to coincide with the National Hockey League playoffs. According to the company, “Fanalytics” refers to data analysis and research into the preferences of sports fans and ways to meet them at Boston Pizza locations. This includes elements such as menu items, seating arrangements, technology and crowd behavior. As part of the promotion, Boston Pizza has invited sports fans nationally to submit Fanalytics research proposals to receive Fanalytics Research Grants in the form of Boston Pizza gift cards. The promotion was developed by John St. and UM Canada. It will run until May 22.

The promotion is being supported with 15-second television commercials featuring play-by-play announcer Chris Cuthbert which will run during playoff game broadcasts. Out-of-home advertising is also running in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto. A social media content series is also running on Twitter.
