Kellogg conducts retro cereal promotion

Kellogg Canada has begun a promotion involving the limited-time sale of four breakfast cereals in retro-style packaging. The cereals are Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes. They have been packaged in the styles used in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, including the mascots of the times and related information.

In addition, the company is conducting a giveaway of flying disc toys depicting its brands’ mascots. Consumers can receive a disc by buying two of these specially-packaged products, scanning the receipt and submitting the information online at <http://www.kelloggs.ca/retropromo>. The promotion will run until the end of May.

“Our collective memories flash back to those familiar Kellogg's cereal boxes that sat on our breakfast table every morning while we were growing up,” said Emma Eriksson, vice-president of marketing and wellbeing at Kellogg Canada. “Whether it was Toucan Sam, Tony the Tiger, Cornelius or Snap, Crackle and Pop, these images are remembered fondly in the hearts of Canadians who can now share them with their own families with our Kellogg's Retro Series. The nostalgic designs will take Canadians back in time, while the cereal provides the easy, convenient nutrition that today's consumers demand.”
