Steam Whistle Brewing releases first television commercial
By Adnews Staff
Steam Whistle Brewing of Toronto released its first television commercial yesterday. The ad, developed by Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG of Toronto, will run for locally four weeks as a test. Media planning and buying was handled by Havas. "It wasn't a traditional pitch," said Sybil Taylor, marketing director at Steam Whistle. "They presented an idea to us and we loved it. Best of all, we were able to make it work for our budget which will allow us to continue all of the great grassroots programs we're dedicated to." The creative depicts a series of beer bottles being opened in various locations so that the sound of the escaping gas resembles the sound of a locomotive.
