Hill&Knowlton Strategies hires national creative director

Hill&Knowlton Strategies of Toronto has appointed Chris Davies to the newly-created position of national creative director. According to the public relations agency, the decision to create the position follows several new account wins and an increasing amount of social media and digital work. Davies was most recently associate creative director at BIMM Direct & Digital. Prior to that, he was creative group head at Taxi Canada and associate creative director and creative director at ACLC. He was also associate creative director at Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG. Davies has also worked at Ranscombe & Co., MacLaren McCann and Bozell Worldwide.

"There's no doubt that the lines are now blurry when it comes to earned and paid media, and navigating between the two consistently across multiple offices and practices requires the rigorous bird's-eye view that a creative director like Chris offers," said Mike Coates, chairman and CEO of the agency. "We recognize that while the channels are important, it's about an ideas-first approach and not creating an ad agency within a PR agency."
