Steam Whistle begins Quizzing & Quarantine contest

Toronto-based beer company Steam Whistle Brewing has begun a promotion in association with Quizzing & Quarantine and the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. The effort will take the form if a weekly online trivia contest to raise awareness of and funds for the charitable organization. The funds raised will go toward national programs intended to “create a path toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people by building awareness, education, and connection.” The trivia nights are being hosted live on YouTube at the the channel of Quizzing & Quarantine founder Mackay Taggart, with addition support via Facebook content. Participants will receive points for correct answers to win prizes from Steam Whistle.

“Like countless Canadians, Steam Whistle's staff were inspired by the late artist and activist Gord Downie and his studio album Secret Path, which centred around the story of Chanie Wenjack,” said Greg Taylor, co-founder of Steam Whistle. “Chanie Wenjack’s story inspired us to get involved with the hope to bring positive change in attitudes and actions.”
