Vancity begins new brand campaign
By Derek Winkler
Vancouver-based financial co-operative Vancity has debuted a new brand identity. Developed by VML Vancouver, the new branding coincides with the 80th anniversary of Vancity. It makes use of new colours and a new typeface intended to depict “vibrancy, optimism and inclusivity.” The new branding is accompanied by a new brand strategy and an advertising campaign. The campaign consists of a television commercial, out-of-home executions and social media content. It will run through the summer. Media work is being handled by Havas Media.
“This rebrand is more than a new look,” said Gurpreet Jhaj, vice-president of marketing at Vancity. “It’s about setting Vancity up to reach more people, put more impact into communities and lead change in an industry that needs it. This incredible team has reimagined this brand with so much care to set us up for the next era, and we are just getting started.”
