According to a new agreement, Stella Artois has become the official beer sponsor of the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival. In conjunction with this sponsorship, three Stella Artois postcards have been produced displaying images that reference various famous scenes, characters and objects in movie history. The postcards will be distributed in Toronto for the duration of the festival. The list of 60 films referenced in the cards will be posted on the StellaArtois.com website on Sept. 18. “Associating the Stella Artois brand with quality local and international film festivals around the world reinforces Stella Artois’ belief in the power of film to entertain, amuse and provoke,” said Maria Guest, national marketing manager for Stella Artois. “TIFF is a fitting sponsorship for the film-passionate Stella Artois brand.” Stella Artois is distributed in Canada by Labatt Breweries. Advertising for the brand is handled by Lowe Roche of Toronto.
