Stella Artois begins Rally for Restaurants promotion

Beer brand Stella Artois has begun an online promotion intended to provide support to local bars and restaurants that have been closed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Called “Rally for Restaurants,” the effort encourages consumers to purchase gift cards from participating locations at <http://www.rallyforrestaurants.ca>, to be used when the location reopens. Stella Artois will add $10 to the value of each card purchased. The funds will be provided immediately to participating bars and restaurants. The initiative is taking place in 10 countries, including Canada.
“Local restaurants and bars are the heart of communities and a much-loved part of our social lives,” said Todd Allen, vice-president of marketing at Labatt Breweries of Canada. “Many of these establishments have had to close down during the COVID-19 emergency, while others are trying to get by on take-out. It’s an extremely challenging period and we want to offer as much support as possible.”
