Scotiabank conducts Pinterest campaign
By Adnews Staff
Scotiabank has begun a social media campaign in collaboration with Pinterest. The bank will use the site’s “Pin Extension” advertising format to promote its MometumPlus savings account. According to the company, the intent is to provide information about financial services decision making to consumers who are using Pinterest to research topics such as getting married, taking a trip, buying a house, renovating or having a baby. The Scotiabank Pin Extension includes a quiz about what a user is planning, followed by information about how the bank’s services can assist. The campaign was developed in association with Rethink and PHD Media.
“As consumer habits continue to evolve and social media platforms transform into an interactive marketplace, we look for innovative ways to connect with our customers and deliver content that’s both entertaining and informative,” said John Rocco, vice-president of marketing at Scotiabank. “That’s why we are thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Pinterest, to be the first Canadian bank to launch a creative campaign of this kind, and help Canadians save for all the aspirational items they’re pinning to their boards.”
