Telus begins Holiday Mode campaign

Telus has begun a national advertising campaign called "Holiday Mode" that encourages consumers to limit use of their phones over the holidays to spend more face-to-face time with friends and family. The campaign, which will run from Dec. 8 to 31, includes a 30-second television commercial, a series of online how-to videos, online banners, out-of-home ads, social media activities and live activities. The campaign is part of the first work by TheAndPartnership since becoming creative agency of record for Telus in September.

"Although technology has an incredible power to connect us all, one thing that it cannot replace is that in-person, face-to-face connection that means so much, especially during the holiday season," said Anne-Marie LaBerge, vice-president of brand and marketing communications at Telus. "Unplugging allows us to be present when celebrating new and old traditions and build lasting memories with friends and family. To us, putting our customers first means so much more than providing the technology that connects us virtually, it means helping our customers focus on what truly matters."

Public relations for the campaign are being conducted by Edelman, with media buying managed by Cossette, direct marketing by Cossette Direct and experiential work handled by Behaviour.
