Shaw Media readies two new specialty channels

Shaw Media of Toronto is preparing to launch two new specialty television channels. The first, called FYI, will focus on lifestyle programming and will debut in the fall. The second, called Crime & Investigation, will focus on true crime programming and will debut in December. Both channels will be aimed at women primarily, with FYI targeting a younger audience.

"As the media landscape evolves, Shaw Media continues to see success with strong specialty channels focused on offering high-quality, engaging content," said Paul Robertson, president of Shaw Media. "FYI and Crime & Investigation are welcome additions to our leading portfolio, further captivating the female demo and providing an even wider selection of programming for our viewers."

FYI and Crime & Investigation are properties of A&E Networks, which is joint venture of Disney-ABC Television Group and Hearst.
