Space rebrands

Specialty television channel Space has undertaken a rebranding. Changes include a new logo and the new tagline, "It's all around you." The effort also includes a new on-air visual style and a new website at Space.ca. The new branding was developed by the Bell Media Agency. Space is a division of Bell Media. "The goal with this rebrand was to move the core idea of the channel out of outer space and bring it into the world here on Earth," said Justin Stockman, executive director of marketing for specialty channels at Bell Media. "We wanted to separate it from the old notions of niche sci-fi, and instead celebrate and embrace the mainstream appeal of genre programming. This programming is imaginative entertainment that's smart and sexy, and we wanted the brand to reflect the same contemporary and trendsetting attitude that our audience possesses." Space is promoting its new branding with a campaign on Bell Media's television, online and radio properties. Additional online advertising is running on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Other components of the campaign include transit ads in Toronto and Vancouver, as well as cinema ads in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
